What we do

Onze innovatietijdslijn

Establishment of Compas

Compas was founded and makes machines for bulbs and tubers. They came with the new cam-type sorting machine.

The first flower processing line is ready

A customer was looking for a solution for bunching his flowers. Van den Berg Machines went to work. It became a conveyor belt with a saw, deleafer and a binder. This is how the first flower processing line was created.

The First potato sorting machine

Compass developed the first potato sorting machine.

Flower line

One of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands comes up with the question if it’s possible to develop a line for bunching flowers. This creates the first flower line.

First T-1 debulber

Olimex wanted something different. They started with the development of a 'Butterfly' and shielded part of the machine. The debulber was named T-1 (Torpedo), now version T-12 is on the market.

The first Chrysant machine (S5-3000) and belt harvesters.

Van Den Berg Machines focused on optimizing the rope transport. The machine was standing on the path and connected to the strings. The machine that stood on the path could cut, deleafe, bind and collect. This is the current Path harvester (S5-3000).

CRM binder

Van Den Berg Machines developed his first own binder. This binder is the current CRM binder.

First Rosematic

Van Den Berg Machines and ZTI (Zuurbier) are working on automating the rose processing. This resulted in the first version of the Rosematic with vertical transport at the head of the rose.

Establisment of Bercomex

Van Den Berg Machines (flower lines), Olimex (roses) and Compas (bulbs and tubers) settle in one building at the Holenweg in Hoorn.

The Aquagrader is being developed

Lily bulbs are difficult to sort because of the large root bunches, therefore the Aquagrader was invented.

Invention of the singling unit

After years of trying, Van Den Berg succeeded in transporting the flowers vertically without reducing the quality. The next problem that occurred was transport to the terminals. For this the singling unit was invented. This was the solution of the machine and a great invention of Van Den Berg Machines.

The Furora is ready for the tulip market

The Furora has been ready for the tulip market since 2010 after a few tests. The first machine of his kind in this market.

The Furora is being developed for several flower types

Bercomex makes Furora suitable for multiple flower types. Include chrysanthemums, bouvardias, lilies and peonies.

Bercomex brings Jumbo Cone on the market

The Jumbo Cone is a large spindle binder elastic and contains four times as much elastic as regular spindlers and therefore fulfills the customer's desire to get more continuity in the flower processing process.

Bercomex Insights Tool is released

The Bercomex Insights Tool (BIT) will be available to customers from 2017. This gives customers worldwide more insight into the productivity and quality of the flowers that are processed with a Furora fully automatic bunching machine.

Update Bucket fillers

Bercomex launches a new range of bucket fillers; Bucketfill, Basicfill and Multifill. These bucket fillers are more durable and efficient than the earlier versions. Moreover, remote service is now possible.
