For more than eighty years we have been creating, developing and maintaining innovative machinery that makes a difference. By aligning the machines perfectly with your process, we take steps together in the areas of productivity, product quality and continuity.

What we do

Our innovation timeline

First T-1 rounder

This is the first Olimex sorting machine from 1967. Olimex believed that things had to change. In the photo, the then-management of Olimex, Mr. A. Eveleens (L) and Mr. K. Eveleens (R).

Founding of Compas

Compas was founded and manufactures machines for bulbs and tubers. They introduced the new cam-shaped sorting machine.

The First Flower Processing Line is Ready

A customer wanted a solution for processing bouquets of flowers. Van den Berg Machinebouw took on the challenge. The result was a conveyor belt with a saw, a defoliator, and a binder. This is how the first flower processing line was created.

The First Potato Sorting Machine

Compass developed the first potato sorting machine.

Flower Line

One of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands asked if it was possible to develop a line for processing bouquets of flowers. This led to the creation of the first flower line.

The First Chrysanthemum Machine (S5-3000) and Path Harvesters

Van Den Berg Machinebouw focused on optimizing string transport. The machine was placed on the path and connected to the strings. The machine on the path could cut, defoliate, bind, and collect. This is the current Path Harvester (S5-3000).

CRM Binder

Van Den Berg Machinebouw developed its first binder. This binder is the current CRM Binder.

First Rosematic

This rose sorting machine was developed by ZTI and brought to market by CTAV. Since CTAV was only responsible for sales, the production, sales, and service of this machine were later (in 1994) transferred to Olimex. This resulted in the introduction of the Rosematic with vertical transport at the head of the rose.

Founding of Bercomex

Van Den Berg Machinebouw (flower lines), Olimex (roses), and Compas (bulbs and tubers) established themselves in one building on Holenweg in Hoorn.

The Aquagrader is Launched

Lily bulbs are difficult to sort due to their large root clusters, which led to the invention of the Aquagrader.

Invention of the Singulator

After years of attempts, Bercomex succeeded in vertically transporting flowers without compromising quality. The next challenge was transporting them to the clamps. This led to the invention of the singulator, a crucial component of the machine and a major innovation by Bercomex.

The Furora is Ready for the Tulip Market

After several tests, the Furora was ready for the tulip market in 2010. The first machine in this market.

The Furora is Further Developed for Multiple Flower Types

Bercomex made the Furora suitable for multiple flower types, including chrysanthemums, bouvardias, lilies, and peonies.

Bercomex Introduces the Jumbo Cone

The Jumbo Cone is a large spool of binding elastic that contains four times as much elastic as regular spools, fulfilling the customer’s desire for more continuity in the flower processing process.

Bercomex Insights Tool is Released

The Bercomex Insights Tool (BIT) has been available to customers since 2017. This gives customers worldwide more insight into the productivity and quality of the flowers processed with a Furora fully automatic bouquet machine.

Update to Bucket Fillers

The Bercomex Insights Tool (BIT) will be available to customers from 2017. This gives customers worldwide more insight into the productivity and quality of the flowers that are processed with a Furora fully automatic bunching machine.

The Flora BunchMaster is Launched

The Flora BunchMaster is a semi-automatic bouquet machine for processing various types of flowers. The major advantage is consistent bouquet quality at high speed.

Introduction of the Flora BouquetMaster

The Flora BouquetMaster is an automatic bouquet line for cross bouquets. The bouquet holder on the line, with an instruction screen for each employee, makes it easy to create uniform cross bouquets. This ensures consistent mixed bouquets.

Hybrid Debudder

Looking to de-bud tulips as efficiently as possible while preserving maximum stem length? The new Hybrid Debudder combines horizontal and vertical transport, allowing you to achieve maximum results with minimal effort.

Summer Stripper

Looking to optimize the removal of leaves and side shoots? The counter blade and unique stripper module ensure that both hard and soft stems are trimmed, improving quality during defoliation.

Tyson Binder

Building on the solid reputation of our reliable CRM Binder, we are proud to introduce its successor: the Bercomex Tyson Binder. This new addition to our binders combines trusted quality with modern innovations.
