Customercase: Frans Verhoeven
Back to overview‘Employees get tired, but a machine always keeps going’
It seems quiet on the land of Frans Verhoeven, owner of Verhoeven Bloemen. But appearances can be deceiving: for some time now, a Furora has been in his warehouse, processing thousands of summer flowers every hour. Almost completely automatic, which means that Frans now only needs three employees instead of ten. A major efficiency boost.
‘Automation is very important to me as a grower. Employees get tired, but a machine always keeps going. Until recently, we still did a lot ourselves: we sorted, counted and bunched the flowers by hand. Because this took a lot of time, we decided to invest in a Furora. We now place the cut flowers on a conveyor belt, after which the process of defoliating, cutting, sorting, bunching and tying is fully automated. This allows us to work very efficiently, but also very accurately. The computer does not miss anything. The Furora is a really great investment for us. We need about six to seven fewer employees per day and during peak periods that number is even higher.’
